Law no. 32/2000
The insurance activity is regulated by Law no. 32/2000, which establishes the legal framework regarding the organization and functioning of insurers and reinsures, of which category the commercial insurance, insurance-reinsurance and reinsurance companies and mutual companies are part.
The same law regulates the organization and functioning of insurance intermediaries, that is the natural and legal persons, named according to the law, insurance broker, brokerage assistant, insurance agent, sub-agent or subordinated insurance agent, as well as the intermediaries in the member states performing the insurance intermediating activity in Romania.
